From the BBC to indie features, Julian West’s journey has been anything but ordinary. A former editor turned director/DP, Julian takes a holistic approach to the whole process of film, seeing this exciting time of radical change in the technology of film making as a great opportunity for storytellers in all fields and at all budget levels.
Julian’s reel boasts collaborations with Pfizer, Papa John’s, and Pepsi, plus a 5-episode campaign for National Geographic. He has directed award-winning shorts, an IFC feature film starring Sarita Choudhury and Rosario Dawson, and is constantly pushing creative boundaries, working also as a creative producer to help new filmmakers develop and execute their indie features. He was nominated for a 2022 Independent Spirit Award for co-producing with Rosario Dawson and Noah Lang the HBO MAX feature “This Is Not A War Story” for director Talia Lugacy.
